  Rigid but has some flex (like a credit card).

• Best For
  Mounting flat against a wall, a wooden fence, or a door.

• Why
  Since it has the wall behind it for support, it doesn’t need to be super thick.
  It’s cost-effective and lightweight.

2. .063″ (Medium Duty)

• Feel
  Stiffer and stronger.

• Best For
  Real Estate hanging signs (colonial posts) or smaller post-mounted signs (12×18).

• Why
  It resists bending in the wind better than .040 but isn’t as heavy as road signs.

3. .080″ (Heavy Duty / DOT Spec)

• Feel
  Extremely rigid (like a road sign).

• Best For
  Mounting to a metal pole in an open parking lot or street.

• Why
  If you mount a thin sign to a single center pole, the wind will eventually bend the corners backward.
  .080 aluminum is thick enough to withstand high winds without bending.
